Try on: Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Fortifying Shampoo and Conditioner + Aloe Extract

According to the Garnier USA website, the Pure Clean line of hair products help moisturize and soften hair that will not weigh it down. The new shampoo and conditioner are paraben and silicon-free with aloe extract and Vitamin E, and claims to cleanse and condition for beautiful, healthier hair at every wash. One thing to note though: these contain sulfates. They each retail about $4.50 MSRP.

My Hair: Long, thin, very fine, and straight. My ends can be slightly dry and is prone to split ends. My roots are prone to dryness, flaking and dandruff.
My Hair Care: I wash my hair 2-3x/week. Every time I wash my hair, I blow dry and straighten it. It doesn't get oily too bad unless I use a leave-on styling cream so I can get away with up to 4 day hair with help from a dry shampoo for the last day. I also very rarely color my hair so it is pretty low maintenance and I do not use any specific hair coloring shampoos, conditioners, treatments or masks.

= MY THOUGHTS =

Aesthetics: I quite like the design of this. The green color is very pleasing to the eye and really speaks to the "pure clean" range they are going for. The shampoo has a pop lid at the top, while the conditioner has the pop lid at the bottom. The smell is very familiar to me. I haven't used any Garnier hair products for a very long time, but the smell almost reminds me of Herbal Essences hair products (or maybe it's Garnier and I just have my memory mixed up, but it is definitely a familiar scent). It smells fresh and flowery, but not overpowering. I quite like it.

In the shower: I feel like the shampoo does not lather as much as 'normal' shampoos out there. I used about a teaspoon amount and worked the product on my roots. It felt moisturizing but not greasy. It made me worry that this shampoo will make my hair oilier sooner than normal. The conditioner felt light weight enough and did not feel like it weighed down my hair.

Styling: I did my usual blow dry with my very very old Revlon blow dryer. Usually I use a hair straightener right after to get a very sleek straight look. However with the use of this shampoo and conditioner combo, I definitely noticed that I did not even really need to use a straightener after blow drying. My hair looked pretty straight on its own, and looked shinier, fuller and healthier than normal. I guess this is the moisturizing claim coming through. Really liked it! Even my mom commented how healthy and shiny my hair looked.

OVERALL: I used these products at least 4x now and I actually like it. The containers are aesthetically pleasing, the products smell good, makes my hair feel smooth, and makes it look shiny and healthy. I don't have to use much styling tools after blow drying which is a plus because it won't damage my hair as much. However, because it is moisturizing, my hair got oilier faster than normal. I had to wash my hair every other day, which is too much washing than I'd like. On the other hand, because it is quite moisturizing, it did not dry out my roots so I did not get any flakes or dandruff. This is pretty great because a lot of products do that to my hair.

All in all, I think these products are great! One thing to note though, if your hair is prone to be oily and limping, these products may not be for you. Also, these contain sulfates so if you avoid or cannot use sulfates, you may have to avoid these. Otherwise, I would continue to use them and I would definitely recommend them to others.
